tips
- introduce a prop
- frame your subject
- add movement
Environmental Portrait
I like this photo and I picked it because it gives me emotion and makes me wonder about what they are doing, thinking, etc.
I picked this photo because it also has emotion. It's not just a guy sitting at a coffee shop, you can see that there is something on his mind.
Casual Portrait
I picked this photo because it's honestly really cute, but I really like the colors in it, her bright red gums and lips bring a lot into the photo.
I picked this photo because she is very serious. It's obviously posed, but it still gives you emotion and makes you wonder why she's so serious?
Self portraits
I really like this one because it has motion and gives the photo emotion and action.
This is something like I wanted to do with mine, create a "ghost" of you in the background. I really like this one because of the ghost.
Self Portrait plan -
My plan for my self portrait is to do something more abstract, more out of the ordinary. I really like the idea of making "a ghost" of me in the background and just put it on a low shutter speed and move a little bit. I have a blank white wall at my house, but I think it would look way cooler if I set up a black sheet and put the flash on the camera, that will give me even more of the blurred version of me in the background.

Abandoned Theme Parks
I would love to go to the six flags in new orleans because everything there looks so worn down and rusty and I would love mess around with a camera there. Plus, the sunset looks amazing there.
I think a really cool place for a photographer would be a pool that was empty; like a hole in the ground. I also think the woods at night would look awesome. And possibly a ghost town? I really think old timey diners would be a gorgeous photoshoot. I would really like to do a photoshoot in a wild marine area.
This was an underwater ship wreck photoshoot some photographer did. The models were professional deep sea divers.
I just thought that it would be a very interesting, but slightly challenging photoshoot.
It would take a lot for me to do this: professional divers, dress designers, a wreckage site, etc. I would also need a scuba suit and definitely a camera that is waterproof.

Africa
I knew Africa wasn't doing so well with it's people, but I didn't know about it's animals. Frankly, I didn't even think about it. I figured people weren't doing well cause obviously we can't really eat grass and drink water out of a lake but animals never crossed my mind. I am a huge animal lover, so this upset me lots.
This is my favorite photo by him because he overlapped the photos and made it look like the giraffe was watching the land get ruined.
Rule of thirds is present in this photo because the main focus is on the giraffe in the far left side.
Nick photographs on medium-format black and white film without telephoto or zoom lenses. I think this is important because it gives his photos that raw look.
He said he takes the photos like this because he wants to show animals in the state of Being. Not action or dramatic, he just wants to show animals as they are.
He hopes for people to see animals just as they are.
"You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close."

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3
This photo first caught my eye on the skyline in the back. I think I chose this photo because it intrigues me.
I see - the skyline
I smell - thin air
I hear - cars honking below me
I taste - mildew?
I feel - scared
This photo first caught my eye with all the numbers. I chose this photo because I wondering what the numbers were and why they were there.
I see - signs
I smell - cigarettes
I hear - cars rushing by, soft music on the streets
I taste - cigarettes
I feel - relaxed
I would like to be able to share about my photographer via poster so I don't find myself getting distracted on the computer or my phone.
Mural Project
1. I think one at school that would be cool is to take a photograph of 1 person per race/ethnicity and see how many different ones we can get. Out of school I think we could do gay pride?
2. I think we should use regular cameras.
3. I'd want to put them in the Academic Building halls.

Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO
Aperture
f2.8
f16
1. eye (pupil)
2. The smaller the aperture, the larger the f-number. The higher the aperture, the smaller the f-number.
3. Based on the aperture, the depth of field will change. Depth of field is the area that appears in the image as sharp.
Shutter Speed
High shutter speed
Low shutter speed
1.
a. high shutter speed
b. high shutter speed
c. high shutter speed
d. high shutter speed
e. high shutter speed
f. high shutter speed
2.
a. low shutter speed
b. low shutter speed
c. high shutter speed
d. low shutter speed?
e. high shutter speed
f. high shutter speed?
3 settings - Aperture Priority (Auto), Manuel and Shutter Priority (Manuel)
ISO
1. If you were to shoot at a higher ISO at a football game, if you got a close up of one of the players, you would be able to see more sweat and texture in their face.
2. Use Low ISO if you are in a dim or dark room and your camera is steady.
3. Increase ISO when there is not enough light. (night)
1. 2.8-22
2. 1/4000-1 second
3. 1-25600
