I can see how people could say that selfies and self portraits are the same thing, but in my opinion, they're not. I see that self portraits are more in depth and usually have a story to them, they make you feel something. Selfies are usually something you would just take with your bad quality phone camera and put it on social media.
Self portraits were a bigger thing back in the day, because now it is so easy to just take a picture and place filters on it for instagram, self portraits are starting to leave the picture - no pun intended. :) Selfies are "technically" the same thing as self portraits, because they are both a picture of you. Self portraits could also be painted, sketched or photographed, while a selfie can only be taken as a picture.
My personal opinion is that selfies and self portraits are very different things because of their importance in different ways.

phobia project
What is a phobia?
a phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of something.
5 Phobias:
Allodoxaphobia - fear of opinions
Bibliophobia - fear of books
Chorophobia - fear of dancing
Hypengyophobia - fear of responsibility
Optophobia - fear of opening ones eyes
I have Astraphobia, so I'm thinking I will do my project on that, just because I know what scares me and what doesn't. I'm thinking of a photo of a huge rain cloud coming towards the camera, because that's usually what starts the anxiety. Maybe a collage? I want to put together a lot of photos and see which one affects me the most.
Nudophobia - this is weird, but i'd love to shoot the fear of nudity. I want to put my models up against a bare wall and have them put really weird, crazy masks on and have them topless, but facing the wall with their masks on backwards, so it looks like their heads are backwards. i would obviously make it school appropriate.
Metrophobia - fear or hatred of poetry - i would shoot this by piling up a lot of childhood poetry books and cover the walls with little poems; just get as many words in the picture as possible.
Hamartophobia - fear of sinning - I would take this of a girl (or guy) fake crying and praying against a bunch of candles, on their knees. I feel like this would add an emotional touch to it.

welcome back!
I picked this photo because the story behind it really touches me. There seems to be a lot of tear gas releases recently and it's obvious in the photo that the boy is coughing, yet he helps the other boy.
I picked this photo because it hurts me to look at it. It makes me think about what I would do if that was me.
I picked this photo because it makes me wonder what it would be like to be stuck in a situation like that.
My favorite song of 2016 would probably have to be Logic Slave 2 because the music touches me and I love the beat. Logic also has a repeated talent for using very deep lyrics, so I love to listen to his music when I'm in the feels.
My favorite movie of 2016 was Arrival. I saw it with my ex and it made me just think about if life was actually like that, if something were to happen to Earth, how would we react?
I think the most important news story of this year was that NASA found 1,284 new planets that could support life. We are constantly looking for a new planet to live on just because we can't freaking take care of this one.
I think the people that win people of the year is the CRISPR scientists because we always need knew sources of technology for science and anything new that we can discover is a benefit to the human race.
I think the biggest sports event of 2016 in my opinion was the FINA World Swimming Championships because swimming is such a big part of my life and I love watching other people swim so I can see what I can change about my strokes and diving, etc.
One thing over my holiday that I had the most fun with was working. I got a job at Galaxy Cafe about a month ago and I love it.
My biggest goal for 2017 is to stay organized, fit and happy. I'm trying to stay drama free and just have fun with my life.
I'm looking forward to getting a car this year and being able to drive myself to school and everywhere else.
